The many social, emotional and physical benefits of dance and dance based movement make Dancessence programs ideal for individuals, group activities, parties, and corporate training events.

Dancessence programs  can be adapted for a one-off workshop or series of sessions to suit individual groups age, ability, experience, interests, and skills. Enquiries are welcome for combining dance and movement sessions with visual arts activities.

Shimmy Shine
(dance style)

Use the grace and style of oriental style bellydance for strength, tone and co-ordination. Sessions combine a few high energy shimmies with easy to to follow combinations that get our smiles shining through. Expect medium to high energy and low impact that is suitable for all levels of fitness and dance experience.

Shake it Up
(dance fitness)

Revisit your favourite songs in a fun dance based workout. Be prepared to shake your tail feather, groove from the heart, turn around once, or live la vida loca. This is a great way to dance when you exercise and to exercise while you dance. Expect medium to high energy and low impact, for all levels of fitness and dance experience.

Made to Move
(creative movement)

Made to Move uses text, music and the world around us for creative movement and self-expression. Sessions are graded for all ages to explore  dance styles, movement, and improvisation. Explore personal expression through movement in a supportive, safe setting. Suitable for all ages and dance experience.

Raqs Sharqi
(dance style)

Explore traditional, community, and performance dance styles from the Middle East that contribute to ‘bellydance’. Each session includes technique and easy to follow combinations with acknowledgement of cultural contexts. Medium to high energy, and suitable for experienced and beginner dancers.

Grown Up Grooves
(dance fitness)

Enhance mobility and co-ordination with low impact dance based movement, gentle stretching and a lot of fun. A variety of activities and music will help keep active in mind, body and spirit. Medium energy, low impact, and suitable for all ages and fitness levels.  

Balance
(creative movement)

Balance uses music soundscapes, visualisations, and guided movement. It encourages a focus on breath, body awareness, and gentle stretching. There are opportunities for meditation and self-reflection. It is suitable for all ages and fitness levels. No dance experience needed.

    Fees & Conditions

     All fees are due on booking. Multi-session passes must be used in the six months from purchase and are not redeemable for cash or transferable to someone else. Non-attendance for a booked session can not be credited but any sessions cancelled by Dancessence will be credited.
